TECH TOLA

Though technology has got nothing to do with this, I couldn't resist myself posting about this in TECHTOLA. Its one of those things in life which makes us to stare at its marvel for a long time, the first time we look at it.

Recently my sister explained me about a strange kind of art which gives us the same image even when we turn it upside down. It was not surprised until she mentioned that its not some junk drawing but art in the form of meaningful text.

Then I remembered it suddenly and googled for it, and thus discovered Ambigrams.

I'm not an anti-Microsoft guy. I love their products XP, VS 2005 I work with them everyday. But I personally feel this isn't a move to promote students and on a social interest. Why not all these days? Guess they started to realize the power of Open source software. Or at least Firefox !!

Is there who is not ready to accept that Firefox is far far better than Internet explorer ??

Vodafone India have launched a new business service by which you can do tracking of any number of vehicles in a web based interface.

It seems like each vehicle will be fitted with a black box, SIM Card and a GPS Receiver.

The fact which amazes me is that you can get SMS alerts on not only latitudinal and longitudinal position of your vehicle, but also the speed of the vehicle and rash driving alerts.

Well just kidding.. I was searching for a catchy name, when Coca Cola crossed my mind and that combined with technology gave me TechTola, later I realised that Tola written in reverse was 'Alot' meaning 'A Lot'.

Make 3D is a very good attempt to model a Dream Project where you can convert your 2d photographs to 3D. You need to sign up to upload and store your photos and their corresponding 3d models.

You can still view all their samples in the public gallery. You need to use the keyboard keys, shift, pg up, pg down to realize its been converted to 3D. Providing the ability to rotate using the mouse would have been better. Results are not as good as you may think, but still makes you wonder how they managed to make the current system.

Nevertheless, It is a really great innovation for an online tool. I guess it is an research by people at Stanford university, because it has been hosted as a sub domain on their server.
